There are many ways to study for your foundation licence when you want to get started in amateur radio. Some choose to self-study, others attend a course like the ones we are able to offer here at MARS. There are other clubs located across the country that provide online courses, but if you are not able to get to the club’s location, it can be difficult to take the practical assessments and the exam.

If you are in this position, MARS can help! On Wednesday 10th February, we are holding a foundation practical assessment session, with an exam the following week on Wednesday 17th February. Should you wish to join us on either or both of these dates, please let us know using the contact form. If you wish to be entered into the RSGB exam on 17th February, please let us know by 3rd February the latest as exams must be booked 2 weeks in advance. The cost for the foundation exam is £27.50 plus a £5.00 administration fee for room hire, postage etc. There is no charge for the practical assessments.

So come along and get on the M6 with MARS – you could have your callsign and be on the air by the 25th February!
